<h2>Transport has always been one of the locomotives of the technological process</h2> The digitalization of the transport sector is no exception, the trend for which began to manifest itself especially clearly in 2018-2020. We will tell you about the current situation in this segment, trends and prospects below.&nbsp;<img src="https://cdn-ite.prismetic.com/transport_7f23cd4e86.webp" alt="transport.webp"><h3> The current situation</h3> According to Mordor Intelligence, the global market for navigation and other electronic systems for transport will reach $44.4 billion in 2024. With an average annual growth rate of 9.9%, this market is expected to grow to $71 billion by 2029.&nbsp;The demand for such technological solutions is caused not only by progress and equipping modern transport with various gadgets, but also by the use of such devices to improve the quality of traffic control, optimize traffic flows and logistics. Moreover, we are talking about creating full-fledged ecosystems that allow not only monitoring, but also justifying certain decisions.&nbsp;The leading positions in the world market of electronic and navigation systems for transport are occupied by the USA and China. It is there that the largest manufacturers are located: Garmin, Honeywell International Inc., Collins Aerospace Inc Raytheon Company Ltd. This is explained by both the high demand for such solutions, due to the significant volume of the transport market, and the developed engineering school and production base.&nbsp;At the same time, Russian companies are currently demonstrating significant progress in the development and implementation of electronic and navigation systems. Thus, in 2023, according to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, 19 transport digitalization projects were implemented in the Russian Federation by four industrial competence centers. Moreover, this concerns both public transport and freight transportation, as well as booking systems. For example, the volume of the Russian market for digital logistics solutions by the end of 2023 doubled, reaching 12.7 billion rubles. In addition, in 2024, more than 3.15 billion rubles were allocated for the implementation of intelligent transport systems in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In total, such projects are being implemented in 62 agglomerations located in 56 regions of the Russian Federation. They include the creation and further development of integration platforms for managing the city's transport system based on domestic hardware and software.&nbsp;The development of unmanned vehicles is worth a separate mention. And here Russia is among the leaders. Thus, Yandex and Sber presented their versions of passenger unmanned vehicles. In turn, the KAMAZ company is actively developing the direction of unmanned trucks, which are already moving along the M11 highway.&nbsp;<h3>Key trends and prospects for digitalization of transport</h3> It is worth noting the following promising areas of digitalization development in the transport sector. The first is the creation of "smart" complexes for managing the city's transport complex, which include navigation systems for urban public transport (thanks to which it is possible to track the number of rolling stock on routes and, if necessary, bring out additional ones), a traffic management system, as well as multi-level protection from external interference.&nbsp;The second direction is the development of unmanned transport. Such solutions are relevant for use not only for cars (including taxis and cargo transportation), but also in urban public transport. Moreover, in Moscow and St. Petersburg, in addition to unmanned cars, unmanned trams and trains (on the Moscow Central Circle) are already being tested.&nbsp;A separate area worth highlighting is the further development of various driver assistants in modern transport. These include driver/engineer assistance systems, remote control systems and, of course, IoT solutions.&nbsp;The fourth promising area for the implementation of digital and navigation solutions is various sharing products (car sharing and kick sharing).
