Today, conditions have developed in Russia for increasing the share of application of Russian electronic component base and software in industrial and consumer electronics. The industry is actively working in this direction, which is noted at the state level.&nbsp;There is interaction between producers and consumers of the Russian electronic component base (hereinafter referred to as ECB) in key areas, which tends to strengthen and develop. Further elimination of organizational, communication and information barriers will contribute to the development of Russian microelectronics and the field of high technologies in general.&nbsp;In anticipation of the 10th Russian forum "Microelectronics 2024", ITE Group and its partner, industrial marketing agency TraceMarket, conducted a survey among participants and visitors of the ExpoElectronica exhibition. The purpose of the study was to identify the main problems and obstacles to increasing the use of domestic electronic components (DEC), as well as to find out the opinion of experts on effective ways of development in this area. The survey was conducted among market representatives, including manufacturers and distributors of electronic components, domestic manufacturers of DEC and electronics manufacturers. 301 respondents were surveyed, which made it possible to obtain accurate data with an error of +/- 5% (at a confidence level of 95%). "We are seeing a high demand for marketing research and analytics in the electronics industry, and industry exhibitions such as ExpoElectronica provide a unique opportunity to quickly track industry trends," emphasized Anton Bolshakov, CEO of the industrial marketing agency TraceMarket.&nbsp;The survey results were presented and discussed by experts at the Microelectronics Forum as part of the round table "Achievements of domestic microelectronics under sanctions. What will we have time to do by ExpoElectronica 2025?"&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1600/902;" src="https://cdn-ite.prismetic.com/1000071099_50e2e3b9f1.jpg" alt="1000071099.jpg" width="1600" height="902"></figure> Here's a summary of the survey results and an analysis of industry trends for 2024.&nbsp;1. Participation of companies in exhibitions and their preferences:&nbsp;// Regularly attending exhibitions : 50% of respondents regularly attend exhibitions, and another 44% do so once a year. Participation in exhibitions is considered an important way to increase company recognition and gain market information.&nbsp;// Exhibition presence : 47% of companies participate in exhibitions with their own stands, with the main initiative coming from the company management (59%). Marketing and commercial departments also play an important role in decision-making.&nbsp;2. Benefits of participating in exhibitions:&nbsp;// Key Benefits : The main benefits of exhibiting include introducing new products to market (60%), attracting new customers (56%), establishing partnerships (50%), and gaining insight into the state of the industry (40%). Companies view exhibits as a platform to showcase new products, gather feedback, and increase brand awareness.&nbsp;// Networking Opportunities : Exhibitions help in forming strategic partnerships, including collaboration with distributors, investors and design centers.&nbsp;3. Growth points for Russian components and electronics:&nbsp;// Quality and delivery times : by improving product quality and reducing delivery times, there is a good chance of quickly replacing foreign analogues with domestically produced products.// Focus on the development of electronic engineering : the development of key technologies and materials will ensure a significant increase in the production of domestic electronic components.&nbsp;// Industry support : an important role in the successful development of import substitution and technological sovereignty is played by the creation of a positive image of domestic products among market players, technology partners and consumers.&nbsp;4. Future growth and investment:&nbsp;// Demand for domestic products : many enterprises partially (54%) or completely (2%) replace imported equipment with domestic analogues. At the same time (44%) of companies are not yet ready for a complete transition.&nbsp;// Support from ECB manufacturers : Respondents suggested several steps to increase the use of Russian components, including improving quality, reducing cost, and ensuring the availability of technical documentation and support.&nbsp;5. Raising awareness and comparing characteristics:&nbsp;// Mastering Russian components : Companies expressed interest in technical consultations (55%) and master classes (30%), which indicates their desire to improve their qualifications and knowledge in the use of Russian components.&nbsp;// Comparison of characteristics : The vast majority of respondents (87%) are interested in demonstrations comparing Russian products with imported analogues, which indicates the market need for transparency and comparison of characteristics.&nbsp;<h3>Interpretation based on 2024 industry trends:</h3> // Reorientation to Russian technologies : Russian electronics is focusing on import substitution and technological independence, striving to develop domestic production. The study confirms the growing demand for domestic technologies.// Growing demand for exhibitions : The survey highlights the role of exhibitions as a platform for presenting new products, establishing partnerships and analyzing competitors. In 2024, events like ExpoElectronica are crucial for companies seeking to realize their goals of national technological sovereignty.// Competency development : Interest in workshops and technical consultations indicates that companies are seeking to improve their skills in working with domestic technologies. This trend demonstrates a shift towards more independent product development as part of a reduction in dependence on foreign components.// Priority for quality and supply chains : Developing product quality, increasing production volumes and supply chain reliability are priorities for the Russian market. Companies offering innovative alternatives to imported technologies occupy a significant market share.// Partnerships for Growth : In the face of geopolitical and logistical constraints, companies are looking to strengthen both domestic and international partnerships. Trade shows are important venues for forming collaborations that can help solve production problems and stimulate innovation.&nbsp;<h3>Industry Trends 2024</h3> Dynamic changes : In 2023, the volume of the Russian market for radio-electronic products reached RUB 2.63 trillion, increasing by 1.6 times compared to 2020. By the end of 2024, the production volume is projected to be RUB 2.80 trillion.&nbsp;Taxes and insurance premiums : The special tax rate on profits for electronics developers and the reduced insurance premium rate of 7.6% are extended for 3 years. For microelectronics manufacturers from the specialized register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a preferential profit tax rate is currently in effect - 3% for the federal and 0% for the tax to the regional budget. In 2023, this allowed Russian companies to save 70 billion rubles.&nbsp;Import substitution : Russian electronics has been changing under the influence of import substitution since 2022, focusing on the development of high technologies and the creation of its own products. At the same time, it strives to avoid isolation and maintain international partnerships.&nbsp;Demand for Electronics Development : The demand for electronics development and manufacturing is growing rapidly. Contract development companies as well as ODM companies have recorded a significant revenue growth of up to 2.5 times in 2023. Electronics contract manufacturing (EMS) has also grown by 42% in 2023.&nbsp;Personnel : The growing electronics industry creates a steady demand for qualified personnel. Projects to create "Advanced Engineering Schools" and "Youth Laboratories" in the field of radio electronics, of which there are already 60, will receive and continue to receive state support. It is planned to create another 50 new such projects. Financing for these projects over the next three years will amount to 40 billion rubles.&nbsp;Support for microelectronics : Over 4 years, more than 430 billion were allocated from the budget to support the microelectronics industry in the Russian Federation.&nbsp;Changes in export : Russian companies are striving to develop export directions, which is facilitated by the active growth of IT in Russia and the availability of their own solutions comparable with global analogues and capable of competing in the global market.&nbsp;We will continue discussing current industry trends as part of the business program of the ExpoElectronica and ExpoCifra exhibitions , which will take place on April 15-17, 2025 in Moscow, Crocus Expo.&nbsp;"There are caring people working in our industry and by joint efforts we are creating a positive image of Russian high technologies not only within the country but also on the international market.
